Tuesday is just Monday Lite

Both of the scheduled showings cancelled yesterday. It was pretty shitty weather. Shawshank said one of the cancellation notes indicated the buyers were putting in an offer elsewhere.

Yesterday wasn’t as bad as expected. I won’t put forth theories about why it went smoothly, because they don’t matter. I have 21 shifts left, and not much in that place matters to me. Oddly, out of all of the stuff I’ve purged and pruned from my life since February 22nd, the fact there’s an end date for work is the most “freeing”. While we’re not as stressed out as we were a year ago after the system overhaul, none of us are happy with the company in general.

To be honest, I think the only thing that have kept a few of us with the company is Covid. We can’t afford to leave a stable position in a time when a lot of places are closed. Corporate knows that, and they’ve backed off on a lot of the metrics and statistics they shove up our collective asses on the regular. However, it’s been creeping back in. Once I leave, I expect DayTech won’t be too far behind.

Today is a closing shift. It’s also a split shift for the pharmacists, but I’m not certain which pharmacist I’ll be closing with. I really hope it’s the new guy, because he rocks on closing shifts. It’s nice to work with someone who actually helps out.

I’m going to start the day with a workout. Nothing insane like my weekend stuff, but something that will make me feel like I’ve actually done something. It’s a good way to start things. And I have a wonderful dinner of burgers to look forward to when I come home.
