Countdown

Good morning, and happy Wednesday. Again, there’s sunshine out. That makes twice we’ve seen it this week.

They did, in fact, have someone over in yesterday morning’s downpour to pop the vinyl siding into place. It was the last repair needed before they can have the appraiser back out to sign off on everything. We’re not sure exactly when that will be and whether she’ll need access to the basement, or if she can simply drive by.

Yesterday afternoon, Shawshank and I received another batch of paperwork to electronically sign. Our new closing date is February 26th – a week from Friday – which gives me 9 days to be out of here. Depending on the weather, I’d like to be out on Tuesday or Wednesday. I can put trash out one last time. If I can’t, I can’t, and I’ll understand if I have to put it off until the very end. At least in this area, the 10-day forecast looks good straight through next Friday, with Monday and Friday being the only one with a chance of any precipitation. By the end of the weekend, I should have a better idea of when I can leave.

Unfortunately, we’re supposed to have a decent storm tomorrow that’s slated to dump more on us through Friday.

Yuck.

Today, as far as I know, I don’t need to expect anyone. This morning was was trash pickup, and I brought a few more things out last night. However, it looks like I’ve reached pretty much the end of the line in terms of The Great Sort and packing.

I’m leaving the house for a little while today, as soon as I can assume human form. I want to grab some stuff before the weekend and the potential storm, and today’s the best time to go. Depending on how things develop with the closing timeline, it might be a busy weekend of visits and goodbyes.
