I need a powernap

Good morning, people. It’s Tuesday, and today starts my 4-day stint of closing shifts at work. It’s also payday, which means I have a couple of bills to pay this afternoon. Yay.

We walked into a mess yesterday. It must have been a busy Saturday shift, and Sunday we’re closed. Those two factors alone are enough to swamp us. However, we started to give flu shots just after we opened, so we were constantly behind on work. It wasn’t until just before I left that we felt somewhat caught up.

I’m not too worried about today’s shift. I’m more worried about Thursday’s shift, to be honest. Wednesday, NewTech will take the morning shift, and DayTech has the night shift. I’ll have the flu clinic. A morning shift with NewTech will leave us with a lot to clean up.

As usual, tonight’s late shift cuts into my time to pull shit out of the house for trash day tomorrow. The last thing I want to do when I leave work is deal with boxes and bags of trash everywhere. I’ll do what I can, since that’s all I can do.

However, we need to look at the positive side of things. The extra night shift will give me an extra morning to work out before work. I’ve been a complete slacker lately. I feel like a complete failure for a lot of reasons in life, but I should be able to succeed at a morning workout.

Which I will do.

As soon as I pull myself off the couch.
