But Everywhere

I left work a little early last night. It was totally dead, and I already stayed late a couple of days this week. We weren’t forced to deal with any of Doogie’s asshat ways yesterday. Unfortunately, the pharmacist we had wasn’t spectacular, either. I don’t think she’s worked in a retail setting for very long. She’s worked with this pharmacy chain for around a year, I think. Right now, she’s training in a local hospital as well as working for my company. Everything was “oh, but [insert other pharmacy setting] did/does it this way!” She wore a mask and gloves all day (never changing the gloves, touching her face with the dirty gloves, etc), got into a loud discussion about religion with a patient. I took that as my cue to leave for lunch.

After work, I picked up some basics for the week. Our governor made some adjustments to the rules for essential businesses. At the beginning of the week, businesses were asked to limit the number of customers in their building. By the end of the week, however, the state was stepping in with guidelines of exactly how many people a business could handle at any time. I expected a wait to go in in, but I was in and out within about 30 minutes.

The highlight of the day was spending half the evening painting the Warhammer minis. I cleaned up the space around the dining room table and just relaxed for a while. Eventually, I finished what I could do without going into the basement to prime more bases. I devoted the rest of the night to working out a potential Plan Eh route across the country.

Plan Eh‘s Plan A

There was nowhere to go but everywhere, so just keep on rolling under the stars.

Jack Kerouac, On the Road

Right now, this is the plan. It’s slightly longer than I had originally planned, because I switched things to go through Michigan instead of across Indiana. But, it only added an extra day. Last night, I got it into my head to cross into Canada earlier and take the Trans Canada Highway. I’ll talk to his mom tonight about what she thinks of the idea. The only downside is I’d still be driving past my end destination (southeastern SK) to get to Grasslands on the other side of the province.

Today, I’m doing nothing would involve leaving the house. One of my chores last night was writing out a workout for today, and I’m planning to push myself through it to make up for all the bad decisions I’ve made this week. I have to change out of my comfy Batman jammies and get some workout gear on. After the workout is lunch, and getting the laundry going. The rain is supposed to hold off until late in the day, and I’m going to take some pictures of more ponies to put up on eBay.

And there will be more painting. I will not pack those Warhammer minis before I finish them.
