sew busy

Good morning, and oh look, it’s Wednesday. Last night, we crashed at our normal “not a school night” bedtime. This would have been awesome, if I hadn’t bolted out of bed a couple of hours later, suddenly wide awake and seemingly drowning in my own fluids. On a positive note, while the wind is still pretty gusty, the rain stopped at some point overnight.

I played Just Dance for about an hour yesterday. I played a handful of new-to-me routines, and others I’ve done before but am less familiar with. It was a pretty good mix, and I was able to get into a good groove for a while. I managed to get a few high scores on songs that I’m not good with. I’m pretty sure I achieved SUPERSTAR ranking on at least one routine I’ve been struggling with, but I couldn’t tell you which. Maybe “We Don’t Talk About Bruno”? I also decided to dip my toe into the Vs. mode and compete against other players’ high scores. I won one match, and lost the other.

While the Just Dance subreddit is a complete shitshow of users who will never ever be satisfied with anything, I only have one complaint. I wish I could make custom playlists. That’s all I want. I don’t even need to save the playlist, just let me choose a bunch of songs to play without interruptions during a session. Or, barring that, make the “daily curated” playlist have more variety. Right now, my curated playlist is nearly identical to the “global leaders” playlist.

Aside from Just Dance, I spent yesterday being crafty. After Shawshank left for work, I sat down at the sewing machine with some shit I prepped last week. Like I previously wrote, even though I can’t take photos of the finished items yet, there’s no reason I can’t finish the other projects. So I added the edge bits to two more pairs, then folded and pinned the other sides in place. I also properly hand-sewed the holes I use to insert the elastic on several other pairs.

I capped the night off with a bubble bath that was not nearly hot enough. We can never have nice, hot baths/showers when the wind is really gusty.

Today? More of the same, I think.
