Good morning, world. Happy midweekend for us. The skies are slightly brighter, and the wind has settled somewhat. Alas, while the cloud cover isn’t quite as dismal as the last two days, last week’s mild temps are gone. The windows are still open, but leaving the back door’s window open is just too much. This makes Pippin sad. She likes to hear the birds.

I wore my new genie pants yesterday. They’re super comfy, and the fabric makes swishy sounds. I wish I had made the elastic waist an inch tighter because it’s just a hair looser than I’d be comfortable with if I didn’t have a shirt tucked in or leggings underneath, but otherwise, they’re fun. There’s also an added bonus giggle: sitting down and making them inflate.

This particular style is nearly identical to the three patchwork pairs I already have. The main difference is in the waist. My existing pants have a wide, shirred waist, and these are just a flat waist with elastic inside.

I’ll have more to show off later this week. We’re going to Shady Acres today, and hopefully Shawshank‘s mom still has the pattern for the pants she made for me. The bottom of that pattern turns out similar to these, very billowy and drop-crotchy. However, I think there’s a bit more fabric gathered up in the hips and waist.

The local greenhouse opened up this week. Shawshank picked me up after he left work, and we drove out to see what they had to fill some pots beside the patio. We found a few things we liked for us, and scoped out ideas for Mother’s Day.

The rest of the day was spent on the couch. I played some Breath of The Wild. I haven’t finished it yet. Shawshank‘s latest kick is riding his horse across the world, finding korok seeds. I’m running around, hunting for treasure chests. He asked for Friday off, because we’d initially planned to drive into the city on release day for a physical copy of the game. Eventually, he wore me down with worries about finding a store that still had copies by the time we made the 2+ hour drive. I looked on the TV screen at one point yesterday morning and saw the Nintendo Eshop listing for Tears of the Kingdom with the “preorder” button higlighted.

The past tense of “highlight” should be “highlit”. Fight me.

I told Shawshank to go for it, and it’s ready to go at launch on Friday. We made a deal – he can play the new game first, but we’re driving to Slightly BiggerTown and doing the regular shopping on Friday, so I can go to the secondhand shop.
