no patterns no problem

Greetings and salutations, bitches. It’s a sunny Sunday morning. The coffee is hot, the sun is bright as fuck, and we’re all awake. We slept the sleep of the dead last night, at least for the first half of the night. Judging by how long I was listening to music, I think I woke up around 6-ish. I tried to fall asleep again, but was unsuccessful and just quietly scrolled through my phone until Shawshank‘s alarm went off.

I destroyed the living room yesterday. I spent the entire day pinning squares into strips, sewing the squares into strips, then sewing the strips into bigger panels. While I have dimensions in mind, I’m not using an actual pattern. That would make sense, and we can’t have that happening, right?

It’s coming together a lot faster than I thought it would, probably due to Pippin’s watchful supervision. I finished the general shape of the back over the course of the afternoon.

Unfortunately, all the fabric cutting is leaving threads all over the fucking place. Some samples shed more than others, and I’m trying to make sure, but I only lost one sample to frayed edges. I prepped more strips before cleaning up last night; I’ll use them to build the other side of the sleeves, then work my way down the front. We’re going into Slightly BiggerTown tomorrow, I’m going to hunt down some fabric at the thrift stores, where there’s almost always sheets and curtains to pick through.

We’re still shuffling around our weekend schedule. Today will be brunch day, since we’ll be going out tomorrow. Shawshank has laundry going. I’m probably going to make more of a mess on the floor. Dinner at Shady Acres has been postponed this week, so we’ll find something good to eat.
