I stitched so now I bitch. It’s the law.

Hello, world. Happy Thursday. The skies look clearer than yesterday, but I can’t quite tell yet. I think I heard the alarm go off – I have a vague recollection of adjusting my nest of pillows – but didn’t wake up until after Shawshank had left. I woke up at 5:30am, wondering why the aurora light was on so early. My stretching disturbed Chaucer, and we both decided to get up shortly thereafter. Today is his birthday, he’s 18. I’ll give him some cream cheese later.

I worked on the current batch of pants for a while yesterday. On Tuesday, I spent most of the time picking fabrics and cutting fat strips for the contrasting bits. Yesterday’s task was the continuation of that process: sewing the strips into loops and pinning those loops into openings. One waistline needed “extra help” being gathered up before the pinning, so I handled that as well. I managed to pin everything but one waistband, which also needs some extra help.

I’d been putting off dealing with a weird fabric that I’d already cut and pinned, so I added that to my to-do pile as well. It’s a slightly stretchy, slightly loose knit, and I was worried about running it through the machine. Fortunately, I had no trouble at all, in fact, it’s one of the nicest fabrics I’ve worked with.

The week is winding down. It hasn’t been nice enough to play outside since Monday, and I haven’t had much spin time since then. I’ll play some Just Dance today, but I’m really itching for some flow. The sun is out.
