it’s turkey time

Greetings and salutations, y’all. It’s Monday. The sun is shining, the air is cold, and I’m wearing the sheep jammies again. I have the hood up and everything. Shawshank brought me my coffee, because I’m a spoiled bitch. Chaucer is in the front window, watching a flock of little birds on the grass. He really, really likes that window.

I’m not sure what the difference is between this window and the one at my mother’s house. Mom‘s window was bigger, and overlooked a garden full of weird shit to chatter at. He very rarely would look out that window. But he loves to sit in the window here, and spends all afternoon laying around in the sunbeam.

Thanksgiving went off without a hitch. We packed up the truck in the afternoon, hauling everything over to Shady Acres for turkey dinner. By “everything”, I mean a pan of stuffing and the Switch, and the haul was an entire 3-minute drive to their house a couple of streets over. We got there early enough for Shawshank to make a batch of homemade noodles.

Shawshank has been reliving his childhood on the Switch this weekend. Since I’ve hooked it up to the TV and set up the Switch Online service, he’s been playing Super Mario World and Paper Mario and poked around with some old Zelda games. The first thing he did when his dad came in the house was show off Ocarina of Time. If the controllers weren’t so small in their man-hands, I’m sure he would have hooked it up to the TV over there.

Today, we’re going out to the farm for the afternoon. I’m drugging myself chock full of allergy meds, because I’ve been promised a tractor ride.
