Hello, world. It’s a nice morning here. Not nice in terms of weather, perhaps, but it’s been nice because no one is causing problems and getting yelled at.
I tried another OBS stream yesterday, after tweaking my settings a bunch. Aiming for stability over quality seemed to help quite a bit. I had a bunch of issues while I tweaked settings. I learned that setting the output too high made the feed choppy, and Chaturbate would show me as offline if I went too low. After 15 minutes of fucking with things, I hit a setting sweet spot, and everything stayed connected. It was slow going, but I had more people in my room than I had on Tuesday. I streamed for about 90 minutes before I needed to take a break.
When I came back, even though the settings were unchanged, nothing would connect properly.
Trying to remain positive (and avoid a “I just spent $500CAD on gear and doubled Shawshank‘s phone bill and nothing is working” doom spiral), I decided to give up on OBS for the rest of the evening. Instead, I grabbed a second Mountain Dew out of the fridge, smoked a big bowl, and proceeded to raw dog my stream, doing it through the Chaturbate website like we did in the old days.
It worked surprisingly well, and I made some money.
We have today off. The back door is open for the cats. We’ll probably go out to the secondhand shop, and put up a window shade. Shawshank says we’re only putting shoes on once today. I’m pretty ok with that.
