it takes a 30mph wind to stretch a typical flag to a level position on a flagpole

Hello, world. The wind hasn’t stopped for two days. It doesn’t seem as bad as yesterday, but I’ve only been up for 20 minutes.

We had a nice day off, and we only put our shoes on once. We had one project: set up the blackout shades in the bedroom. It wasn’t difficult, and it would have been doable with one person, but it was just enough to be much better with two. The kit was simply a couple of yards of blackout material, black on one side and silver on the other, and some Velcro tabs. In my opinion, it looks trashy as hell, but Podrick’s destructive nature makes normal window coverings out of the question at this time. While I love how much light comes in without curtains, I don’t want to be flashing the goodies to TinyTown. We joked about putting a little DEFINITELY NOT A METH LAB sign up in the window.

Later, we took a quick trip to the secondhand hand store, but didn’t find anything we needed. There was a wine-making kit with a massive glass carboy, and I had a fleeting moment of “think of the terrarium I could make in that” before my brain took over and bitchslapped that idea right out.

Shawshank is working the day shift today, and I’m going to wash my hair and dance around to loud music.
