Is it done yet?

Happy Friday, my friends. We’ve reached the end of the traditional work week, and the weekend is right there in front of us. Right there.

The wind is back, fortunately not nearly as bad as earlier this week. While the strong gusts don’t feature in today’s weather, it’s just windy enough to make it chillier than usual. However, it’s sunny today, and sunshine is all we should expect for the next week. Even better? It looks like it will be beautiful weather to drive down the east coast.

The postmistress in TinyTown is amazing. She knew Shawshank was expecting important paperwork – he’s only gone in at least thrice daily every day this week. Yesterday, she dug through a morning mail delivery until she found his consulate packet. Then, because it’s TinyTown, she called him at work. Unfortunately, the packet didn’t arrive early enough him to make the cutoff, and won’t begin its journey back to the US until around my lunchtime. Shawshank sent pictures of everything before he sent it out, as requested. The aggressive paralegal acknowledged and approved their sendoff. I’m doubtful anything will happen until Monday, but it feels so good to know the end is near.

It was a busy day for both of us, actually. We both did a little bit of shopping. I have just enough food in the house for the next couple of dinners. However, lunches are a bit spotty, and I have to decide on whether or not to order Hometown tonight.

The truck has been packed for a week. I mopped the floors yesterday. The fridge is empty. I have three small tote bags, two laptops, and a taxidermy chicken.

Please let this be my last weekend here.

  1. This whole adventure has worked its way into my dreamscape- I had a dream I was you, living /sleeping/moving my cats in a truck etc.
