Friday. We’ve been waiting for you.

Friday. We’ve been waiting for you.

The snow was pretty bad. Granted, we’ve had a lot worse. However, I’ve never been on my own for it like this time around. I shoveled the path to the back door, the deck, and the front step. Then I shoveled around the truck. After 45 minutes, I was done and went inside to shower, warm up, and finish getting ready for work. I started up the truck about 30 minutes early, so it would be toasty warm inside after I cleaned it off. This was smart. In the 90 minutes between trips outside, the temperature had dropped about 10°F and the wind had picked up again. I think it took me about 20 minutes to clear all the snow off the truck. By that point my fingertips were numb.

It only took a major snowstorm to give us a chance to catch up on everything at work. I was able to pack up a box of expiring meds. We finished all the day’s work. The weather kept all but the most hardy of our sketchy patients out of the pharmacy. StressedRPh printed out the company’s updated attendance policy and we talked about how she could have written up NewTech months ago for her excessive call outs.

When I came home, I stopped and grabbed some dinner. Since my back was a little stiff from all the shoveling, I hopped in the tub for a long, hot soak. Shawshank and I had a long video chat before bed, and I fell asleep with the anti-Christmas tree lit up again.

Unfortunately, now that the snow has stopped, I expect that today will be insane at work. Starting today, the next week is “holiday spirit” week, and we can wear jeans and festive holiday accessories. That makes things a little more bearable.

And it’s the weekend.

I have a busy weekend, with five house showings between now and Sunday. One of them is this afternoon, which is fine. However, there’s three tomorrow. It wouldn’t be half as bad if they were in a cluster and I could just go shopping. Tomorrow, there’s one in the morning, then another two in the afternoon. The afternoon showings are about an hour apart.

I’ve never hoped to be called into work so badly.

None of that matters right now. Right now, I need to hit POST, put some clothes on, and get the day started. Have a good Friday, my friends. The weekend is here.
