Allo, y’all. Happy Sunday. This morning is slightly sunny, but I recognize that light. That’s fool’s light. According to the government weather shit, there’s a thunderstorm at Pensacola NAS right now. I imagine that if I went outside in a few minutes, I could hear the rain move up the road to us.
My back still hurts. I figured out what did it. I did a yoga stretch in the shower. Also, I’m apparently old? Adriene always says “breathe into the stretch”. I breathed a little too deeply into that stretch. I think I’ve torn something in my sternum.
We went to Walmart late yesterday. Brian slept through the morning and so Mom went out to work in the yard. He woke up and was annoyed she was doing something, then they both started doing things that weren’t shopping while waiting for the other to finish what they were doing. It was a whole thing. Eventually, we made it to the store. It was almost two hours later than normal, and only because I went outside and asked what the fuck was going on.
The thunderstorms started shortly after we returned home.
I conquered a bit of executive dysfunction and put some flow props up for sale on Facebook: the fans, lightwhip, and LED contact staff. Out of the three, I only really used the lightwhip. That was only for a month or so of random playing in the living room before I grew bored of it. I used the fans for approximately 10 minutes, just long enough to think “this is sooooo not for you” before I put them back in the package they were shipped in.
I tried to like the staff, I really did. I considered keeping it; after all, it converts to a set of poi. In spite of that option – staff or poi – I so rarely used it that it wasn’t worth keeping. As it stands, the fans will probably sell. They have some interest from people who want to get weekend paychecks before they decide on Monday. I held off on putting them up for sale until now, waiting until the manufacturer ran out. If they sell, I can order the new poi I was looking at recently. Even if they don’t, I could order them, since I have the money from my recent painting commission. Waiting until the fans sell would make me feel less guilty though.
Oh, random note: the shop is finally active over on the watercolor art page.
I looked into the terrariums a bit. Teensycola has been doing very well since the transplant. There’s plenty of springtails in there at the moment. I’m a little worried that I’ll have to buy more to seed colonies in Fern Gully, Vault 5, and the Apothecarium. Vault 5’s colony is either dead or hidden; I haven’t seen any since before my trip north for the funeral. Fern Gully’s colony hasn’t recovered from the move into the new jar, and I haven’t been able to transfer many into it. I believe it has only two or three in there.
The centipede is still on the loose in the Apothecarium. I don’t want to add springtails to the habitat only to have them eaten. However, I read that they prefer wet environments over dry. I need to clean the walls in there anyway, so when I’m finished, I’ll put the stocking lid on it. Maybe if I dry that sumbitch out for a week or so, the fucker will come out so I can kill it.
We’re going to the Compound for dinner, as usual. I’ll spend most of my time playing with the new puppy.
