Good morning, Monday. It’s sunny, for the moment. The ground also wet as hell, because Florida. I believe there’s a chance for showers this afternoon, but otherwise the weather forecast looks nice.
We went out yesterday, this time to Brian’s parents’ house. As always, lots of food. I made a BBQ pork mac and cheese bowl. I figured a bowl would limit what I filled my plate with. Unfortunately, it didn’t stop me from eating all the snacks. I stuck to my normal behavior, and kept to myself.
We did the weekly Walmart grocery shopping yesterday. I meant to check out the clearance rack and look for shirts. Mom needs to mail out a package too my nephews today, I believe we’re going to Target after that.
Updates to Plan Eh
Since Canada’s allowing people to cross for family reunification purposes, I’m getting as much of my affairs in order as I can. I don’t have a set date or anything – yet. I’d love to make the trip before Shawshank‘s birthday in June, but that’s probably not happening. My mom would like me to stay through Memorial Day weekend, because they want to take me with them and visit my godparents before I leave. Ideally, I want to be in TinyTown by our anniversary in August.
I started working on the route and stops for the trip. The trip north is a little longer than the trip down to Florida was. Right now, the biggest sticking point will be getting a negative Covid test on the way up. I need to test negative within 72 hours of crossing the border, and it can’t be a rapid test. Unless something changes with Canada’s rules, I’ll probably need to down an extra day or two in Fargo while I wait for results.
I want to go through the truck and reorganize things. There’s things in there that I can mail up to Shawshank. The less I’m driving up with, the better.
