We’ll have to muddle through somehow

Happy Friday.

Yesterday was a steady shift. The store manager ordered pizza and asked what StressedRPh and I liked. She said nothing with mushrooms. Managerman cracked a joke about someone who used to work with us who only ate plain cheese pizza, but now they could order veggies as toppings because she’d retired. I told him I hated veggies, but love mushrooms.

Guess who had cheese pizza?

This girl.

That’s ok though. I had a couple of pieces of cheese pizza, secure in the knowledge that I had a feast planned for dinner.

Dinner involved an absolute meltdown.

I left work just after 5pm, which was still too early for me to order and eat dinner. I didn’t try to order dinner until about an hour later. By that point, the place was jammed and I couldn’t get through their phone lines. I literally redialed 163 times before I could place my order. Eventually, I got through, and 20 minutes later I had an absolute feast sitting beside me in the passenger seat of the Hot Mess Express. I walked into the house, took a huge hit of Christmas spirit, and opened the bags.

Since RI allows cocktails with takeout orders….. I ordered a scorpion bowl.

It came in a bowl.

But the food…. oh god, there was so much food. By the time I had the drink out of its super-stapled paper bag prison, I was, shall we say, “filled with the Christmas spirit”. Eventually, the drink was out, and I moved on to the main course:

So. Much Food.

I ordered my usual combination plate, and added a “small” pu pu platter. When I finally had everything unpacked, I sent Shawshank a picture captioned “I’m too high to even comprehend this right now”. I barely made a dent in any of it last night. There’s still a load of things left over for lunch today and tomorrow.

Today’s pretty lazy. I made myself a big mug of hot chocolate and spiked it with some of the Rumchata that DayTech gave me. I’ll do a workout of some sort, and watch some Netflix. My reservation for India isn’t until 6pm, so I have plenty of time to do nothing between now and then. I’m trying to look at this like any other day.

It’s Friday, with presents.
