solitude, shmoozing, sewing, and streaming

Good morning, world. Happy Hump Day. I woke up to sunshine. The forecast claims today is going to be as hot as – if not worse than – yesterday. Alas, I woke up 90 minutes earlier than the alarm. I’d gladly trade in the extra sunshine for even an extra half hour sleep some mornings.

Shawshank stayed home yesterday. He thinks it might’ve been a touch of heatstroke. It’s a possibility, as we did sit outside for an hour and a half on Monday afternoon. We watched some news shows and surfed through internet bullshit. He spent the first part of the day playing Tears of The Kingdom. I finished the pair of pants (DINO PANTS) I started the other day. I watched him play for a bit, then opted to prep the bag of sheets.

Honestly, the prep isn’t even that bad. It’s boring shit, but it’s got to be done. I end up more annoyed when I need to fill bobbins. I ironed the two flat sheets, then trimmed the elastic edge off two fitted sheets. The elastic isn’t the best. However, if I don’t outright destroy it during prep, I can try to recycle some of it into ankle cuffs. One of our purchases was a duvet cover, which essentially netted me two big sheets once I ripped its seams open. I also snagged a sheet made from some stretchy knit material. It’s terrible to sleep in, but I know from experience that it’s great for recycling into clothes.

Later in the day, I got a turn on the joycons and played for a bit. I ended up stumped on a puzzle-y bit that is probably part of a quest I haven’t unlocked yet. After fucking around for a while, I gave up the game for the night. If I didn’t leave the area (or otherwise stop focusing on the problem) I would end up googling solutions. I don’t want to do that just yet.

Shawshank returns to work this morning. He shaved down much of his beard yesterday, and I’m sure he’ll catch an earful from his boss about how nice it looks. I like that he doesn’t have the homeless granddad look. In my world, I’m going to take advantage of the solitude and do some streaming, sewing, and shmoozing.
