Black clouds and sunshine bullshit

Allo, folks. Happy Monday. The sky looks weird, but I think that’s mostly because it’s cloudy and I haven’t had clouds in days. Honestly, I haven’t really paid attention to the weather reports lately. When I left for Rhode Island last week, I remember the 7-day forecast called for overwhelmingly hot weather. After our return, the heat forced me to block out all of the weather.

Mom is optimistic about today’s weather. I’ve seen the weather report on TV during local news breaks at least three times since I dragged myself out of bed, but haven’t actually watched anything. The clouds are there, but there’s sunshine behind it. Mom feels this is good enough for laundry, and the first load of clothing is in the washer.

We’re supposed to go to Mississippi with Brian’s parents this Friday. They’re going to pick up a new puppy from a breeder, meeting up in a town that’s gotten some bit of fame as of late among the HGTV demographic. Mom wants to look at little shops in the town, because she expects all the antiques and junk shops she sees on the series will be located right there. I was all set and pretty much ready to go until I spent yesterday afternoon at their house. I don’t think I can handle a 3-hour drive just to the town with the dog and get lunch. His parents are loud and yell at each other constantly. Neither of them has an indoor voice.

Additionally, it’s not as though they’ll be able to do much of anything once they meet with the breeder because they’ll have a fresh puppy.

And his mother will only become louder once that puppy is in her claws.

I don’t really have anything going on today. We don’t have any appointments. I made the mistake of looking up today’s weather forecast. Not cool. We might see a popup storm, but more likely simply another solar beatdown. I might work on sketches in the bathroom again, or ink the sketches I sketched last week.
