We’ve done, y’all, we’ve reached the end of the (traditional) workweek. Yesterday was Thursday, today is Friday, tomorrow is Saturday, and Sunday comes afterwards.
We, we so excited.
Last weekend’s sunburn has reached that totally unsexy stage. I feel like a snake, and I want to rub against shit to slough off peely skin. It’s gross.
Yesterday’s shift wasn’t too bad. It’s busier, because we have to do 12 hours of work in 10. However, those last two hours we would be open are generally pretty slow, mostly “pharmacy maintenance” with only a couple of patient interactions. As time goes on, I think we’ll find a groove and things will streamline.
Today is another day with overlap pharmacist coverage. This wasn’t the case yesterday. In fact, yesterday was the only day this week with only one pharmacist. It will be interesting to see how things compare with one pharmacist versus two. There was a conference call this week about severe cuts to the pool of fill-in pharmacists. With the schedule changes at most of the stores, most of the staff pharmacists are losing a LOT of hours. To make up for this loss, they will need to cover shifts at other pharmacies, which means less fill-in pharmacists will be needed.
After this week, my new work schedule will have me on the late shift three days of the week. So far, I don’t mind it. I’ve done three morning workouts this week, which is more than I’ve done in one week in a long time. I’ll do something this morning, I think it’s a lower body booty blast type of morning.
Because it’s Friday, that can only mean one thing: buffalo chicken and sweet potato fries from Hometown. If the day goes smoothly, I can order my dinner and pick it up on the way home. Or have it delivered. Whatever. Either way, I’m having a delicious dinner.
Then, and only then, will I believe the weekend has begun.
