It’s a rainy, gray Thursday. I woke up a couple of times, either too warm, or a street light in my eyes. The temps have been almost summery, and this morning isn’t any different. Unfortunately, we can expect feel more typical temperatures later today and for the foreseeable future.
It was good while it lasted.
We didn’t have to deal with the crazy bitch customer yesterday morning. Her boyfriend came in later and picked up both of their orders. He apologized to us for her behavior. “She’s a handful”, he said. Most of the day went smoothly. I told DayTech that I snarked at StressedRPh for not helping me. The phone rang while I was handling a small line of two patients. I put the call on hold, expecting to be able to grab it quickly. Unfortunately, the line ended up bigger, and the phone kept ringing.
Finally, after about 4 minutes worth of listening to it ring to alert us that it was still on hold, I told her “I can’t get that, my line of people keeps getting bigger.” She muttered something about how she was working on a vaccine and she didn’t want to leave it out. Under any other circumstances, I’d have understood her predicament. However, I put that call on hold before she even reached that point. This is typical of her and I just don’t give a shit anymore.
I made it home to devour a delicious trio of buffalo chicken tacos. Surprisingly, none of the trash had been picked up. I guess it was a real holiday after all. Whatever, it gave me more time to clean out upstairs. The bedroom is empty. I was able to bring several more bags and boxes outside. On top of that, I cleaned up the kitchen some more. There’s still two more things to bring outside before pickup.
DayTech asked yesterday how much longer I can expect to be here. When I came home last night, a neighbor offered to help put up Christmas lights if I didn’t want to climb a ladder. I told her about this morning’s meeting at 10am and how I don’t want to be here at Christmas. I hope to have a better idea of what to expect after the meeting. While I don’t expect to be gone by Thanksgiving in two weeks, I’d love to be out by Christmas.
After work, someone should be coming to the house to buy the old end tables, a coffee table, and two lamps. All that’s left is the dining room set, the TV and its stand, and some dressers. Shawshank once said that I’d look around one day and the house would be empty. I can’t wait for that day.
