Whatever. Again.

Happy Thursday. Or, just Thursday, whatever.

Last night’s game night was fun, a few rounds of mancala after dinner. When he read the instructions on playing it, he insisted that whichever player went first was guaranteed the win. After a couple of rounds, he realized that wasn’t the case, and the fact that it’s a pretty quick game makes it perfect for a post-dinner game. I really want to go back to the game shop over the weekend and find another longer game for the weekends.

It was an incredibly frustrating day with StressedRPh yesterday. Our system at work is a “double verification” system, where prescriptions are checked once for data entry correctness, and a second time to check both the data entry once more, as well as verifying the correct product is what’s being dispensed. The kink in this process? We can’t actually fill anything until she puts a script through the first checkpoint. There comes a point in the day when StressedRPh will see DayTech or me looking like we don’t have enough to do because all the priority fills have been worked on, and the system will say there’s no current technician work, and think we have nothing to do. When this happens, usually around lunchtime, she will go into the system and dump the following day’s queue into our workload.

In the two years we’ve had this system, she hasn’t been able to grasp the fact that unless she does her work – that first checkpoint – there’s still nothing for us to do. She ends up making more work for herself, and spends the second half of the day complaining that she’s so behind on work, blaming us for not working quickly enough.

I expect her head is going to explode when the system is overhauled next week and she has no control over the queue at all.

Fortunately, because of a day off for court next week, today is the last time I’ll need to deal with StressedRPh until next the middle of next week. I’m going to make the best of the day, and it’s going to involve at least one soda and possibly a cookie. Enjoy your day, my friends ❤️
