Good morning, my friends. It’s Tuesday. The heat and humidity broke just enough to make for a comfortable sleep. Sadly, I didn’t get my wish for a thunderstorm. There’s still a possibility for today. However, that possibility brings the higher humidity and temperatures with it.
Thunderstorms and their lack thereof aside, yesterday sucked. It started before I even left the house, when I emptied the dryer and discovered my Vibrams had fallen apart. I don’t wear them to do anything but my workouts or to spin poi, but they had very quickly become my favorite workout shoes. I’d love to replace them, but I can’t afford to drop $130 on shoes I’ll wear about four hours a week.
Then, I was 10 minutes late because of traffic. When I arrived, I had expected a fill-in pharmacist, but had StressedRPh instead. With the pharmacy closed on Sundays now, Monday is worse than before. Mondays need either more tech help, or a pharmacist who is willing to jump in and help. StressedRPh, unwilling to jump in, asked DayTech to come in early. In the meantime, I fielded several complaints about how we’re not open on Sundays anymore. It’s not like we didn’t warn them. Anyone who’s been in the pharmacy for the last month was told verbally or given several notices stapled to their orders.
I left at 5 pm, stopped at the grocery store to pick up some shaved steak, and made myself some awesome steak wraps for dinner. I spent the rest of the night chatting with Shawshank, and transcribing another one of his letters to the Void if Removed blog.
Today’s a late shift. It’s a split shift, which can be good or bad. I plan to do a morning workout, and I need to go to the post office and mail out an eBay auction. Most of my shift will be with Power Nerd, and that’s a good thing, because he’s willing to help out. Tonight, I can clear out the trash I brought up from the basement over the weekend.
This week had better improve. I’m already completely emotionally drained, and it’s only Tuesday.
