tunes a plenty

tunes a plenty

It’s Saturday. Chaucer is sitting on the back of the leather chair, sniffing interesting things on the breeze blowing through the front yard. I’m comfortable right now, but I think the heat will get worse as the day goes on. Things aren’t quite sunny yet.

We had uneventful Fridays. I shmoozed on Twitter in the morning. Since the weather was fucking gorgeous, I went outside for some afternoon spin time. I’m still trying to get more comfortable spinning outside, where people can see me. While I love being outside, being able to have the space to move around, that’s where the people are. I don’t want to deal with the people. LET ME BE A HERMIT.

(but let me do all the things that attract the people, like the spinny lights or the fireballs, because my brain is borked like that)

Usually, outdoor spins use headphones and earbuds. While I was in Rhode Island, my yard was much bigger, thus I wasn’t as worried about polluting the neighborhood with my playlist. However, Shawshank told me there’s no reason I can’t bring my bluetooth speaker outside while I spin, so I did. There were tunes a plenty, for the half hour I was out there. I cut things short because I didn’t have power cords and couldn’t see the phone screen.

When I came back inside, I took a nap. I probably could have napped longer than the 30-40 minutes I managed. At the same time, I deal with more than enough sleep-related bullshit, and I don’t think adding an afternoon nap is the best idea. I spun for a bit more – inside, this time – before Shawshank came home. Eventually, the sun set enough for me to go outside and spin with the lights on for a little while.

Today is Canada day. If we wanted to do anything, we can’t, because everything will be closed for the day. We’re celebrating with the ultimate patriotic meal, hot dogs and chips. According to the forecast, we might see some thunderstorms later today.
