The household schedule has been tossed aside this week due to family things. Shawshank‘s grandmother isn’t doing well, so his mother is sitting with her. His dad has a cancer scan today (4+ hours away) so Shawshank took the day off and went on a day trip with him (and to drive him home).
Yesterday was just another Wednesday. It was my first day streaming with the new bots I’d configured on our days off earlier this week. The bots work fine. I only had to tweak a couple of things mid-stream, mostly related to aesthetic issues. One bot was spamming “FOLLOW ME!” reminders way too frequently, and another was making random usernames display as though they were admins. Both were easily changed without issue. Any major problems I had were related to the app I stream from, its propensity for crashing after two hours, and the subsequent fuckery that changes settings when I reconnect.
The biggest change I’d made was upgrading my tip menu to allow clicking/tapping the menu in addition to the /tip command. I also lowered the prices of some of the “special” levels– but I shortened their “reaction times” as well. While it didn’t translate to crazy money, I feel like I had more people tipping. The new menu bot also lets me know when users request the tip menu, which is pretty cool. The “FOLLOW ME” bot might be disabled next week. It disables the chat until a user follows me, which is a good idea in theory, but I worry it makes me look desperate. I haven’t had it running long enough to determine if it’s leading to an increase in followers.
Shawshank left me with a warning: you might want to lock the back door when I leave in case my mother shows up. I had the same thought last night. Any other day I’d use it as an excuse to sit around and play a game, but I sent Shawshank on the road with the Switch. Whatever I decide to do, I’ll start by determining what human form I’ll take today.
