Happy Tuesday, my friends. We’ve got another sunny day happening here. I hit the snooze button a couple of times, before eventually turning off the alarm and falling asleep entirely for another half an hour. Now, I’m up, and I have the remains of last night’s ice water. That’s how I’m rolling for another day or so, as ordered by the ER – no caffeine and no smoking for at least three days.

However, I did put my laundry in the washer. It’ll be hanging on the line in an hour or so.

Mom called to check in on me. She was very pleased to hear that I’m drinking my water, apologizing that it tastes bad unless it’s really cold. I’m still just …. worn. Although I still have some extreme moments, I’m once more regaining control of my body temp. In fact, by the time Brian came home from work yesterday, I’d put the AC back on. Since things still aren’t remotely normal at bedtime, however, I’m still tossing the fleece on and off all night. Consequently, my sleeping attire has been more, shall we say, “conservative” due to the fact I can’t sleep with the door closed and I don’t live alone. I might try to sleep under the weighted blanket tonight with the typical booty short jammies. I’ll have to rearrange the blanket layers.

My appetite is still nonexistent. That’s one thing I’ve noticed about me being actually injured as opposed to having a simple cold or something like that. I might not have an appetite when I’m sick, but the first sign things are improving is the return of the appetite (usually with a demand for pizza). Both gall bladder attacks saw me lose about 15-20 lbs because I forced myself to eat squeezable packs of applesauce and oatmeal for weeks because they were the only things I could tolerate even putting in my mouth for weeks. Yesterday, I ate a Nutrigrain fruit bar, a slice of raisin bread, and half a packet of instant oatmeal. That shit won’t fly with Mom, so shit better change by Tuesday night.

While it’s a little sore if I lean on my elbow (SO DON’T LEAN ON IT), its bruise is very quickly fading. My head still has a numb spot. The giant bump is mostly gone at this point. There’s still some swelling, which is obviously to be expected. The numb spot is just weird, it’s almost like that tiny patch of my head is asleep. The only way to describe is that will really make sense? Ever tied your hair back tightly for a day, and you get that weird scalp sensation when you finally let it down? It’s almost exactly like that, just in one little patch that’s like the size of the business end of a tea spoon.

It’s not getting worse, so there’s that.

My plan for the day is to hang the clothes out and unload the dishwasher. If there’s anything else, I’ll deal with it.
