Happy Wednesday, y’all. It’s another cloudy morning out in the grass. The weather turned wet last night, drizzling and foggy. I don’t think it stopped overnight. Shit’s moist out there. Inside, we’re up, we’ve got coffee and cats. The back door is open for Pippin, but she would rather crunch up on Shawshank‘s legs with Chaucer. I don’t know how I managed it, but I slept until 7:30. I remember waking up once before the alarm, but I must’ve passed out again.
Since the weather has switched back to early spring, I spent yesterday afternoon being productive. I closed up two pairs of pants and added them to the nearly-finished pile to wait for elastic. If I’m crafty today, I’ll have three more pairs of pants finished. I also worked on two other pairs, one for me and another for the shop. The stock pants will probably have the contrasting waist and cuffs. I might need to fuck with shit slightly, however. The fabric is a large tiled pattern, and I’ll need to be more careful than usual when I cut things.
I also played a bit of Just Dance. There was a special drop of “prequel lore” on Tuesday morning. The hardcore players are pissed because all of the beta tested and leaked maps had Eurythmics’ “Sweet Dreams“, and it was supposedly fabulous. The map and choreo are funky, the first thing it reminded me of was Bette Midler’s “Oh Industry“ which I haven’t even given thought to in 20+ years. Unfortunately, Ubisoft lost the licensing for the song at some point between development and release. Instead of “Sweet Dreams”, they released it with some bullshit original song. The song itself sounds AI-generated. It’s clear it wasn’t the original choice. First, it doesn’t quite match the choreo. Moreover, there’s a couple of points where you can see the dancer lip syncing to different lyrics than what’s actually playing. It’s sloppy.
I played some Torchlight II and streamed some riveting live footage of me sitting on the couch. My first goal was to finish off a side quest I’d started towards the end of the main quest line. It’s loads of fun going back to lower level areas and absolutely TEARING SHIT UP. I capped off the night with about $25 in tips on TikTok. I’m lucky to see maybe 10 people chatting there lately, so actual tipping people are great.
Shawshank closes tonight, and I’m going to do things. But first, let’s get dressed.
