Siren Song and Naps

Siren Song and Naps

Good morning, world.  It’s dark, and not quite the regular wakeup time.  We’re not sure exactly what’s up with Shawshank‘s work schedule today.  The predicted snowstorm actually hit us with meteorological accuracy this time around. The wind started Friday night, and the snow came late Saturday.

Once it was here, the snow didn’t stop.  Shawshank walked to Shady Acres after brunch and cleared a trail down their driveway.  He would clear our steps and the patio during the times when the wind let up.

While he shoveled his parents’ drive, I danced through a quick Just Dance playlist.  Later, I scrolled through my phone, periodically reading Reddit threads to Shawshank or showing him videos of cats and power washing.  He played No Man’s Sky for most of the afternoon. I fought off a nap for as long as I could, but eventually succumbed to the siren song of a snuggly blanket and a warm cat.

We’re not sure what the schedule is for today.  I need to email my latest Etsy buyer and let her know I can’t ship until tomorrow because of the weather.  Shawshank‘s boss texted him last night to sort out the details.  He was scheduled to open at 6am, but the roads are still closed all around us.  For now, they’ve decided to revisit the topic later this morning, once the sun is up.  The area roadways are still closed, including the one he works on.  No sense opening up if no one can even safely get to the business.
