Ribbit ribbit

Good morning, my lovelies. ☕

We’re gearing up for some snow later today, which is why we did everything that needed to be done yesterday. They’re still unsure exactly how much snow we can expect. We could get all rain, we could get a few inches of the white stuff. At the moment, it’s supposed to be a mix of the two over today and tomorrow, maybe into Tuesday.

Today, we’ll be putting up the Christmas tree. He’s dragged all the ornament boxes out of the basement, and the tree is up. Unfortunately, it looks like this is the last year for this tree, since its lights are now at the stage where only 2/3 of the tree will actually light. It’s comforting to know that there will actually be a next year.

Yesterday afternoon, I sat down with paints for the first time in 5 years. He had been doing laundry and came up from the basement with two cans of spray sealant and a tub of gesso, and asked me to paint the toad figures from our copy of Talisman. It’s been a long time since I’ve done any hobbies or interests that haven’t involved food or workouts, and I was surprised how much I missed it. Now I’ve got a few paint sets on my wishlist, and he’s already making plans to move my old painting “battle station” into the living room if I find I’ll be sticking to the hobby. Yesterday afternoon, I sat down with some paint and brushes, and it took me exactly 35 minutes to rinse a paintbrush in my coffee.

Some things will never change.
