It’s been a busy weekend of purging the house. Starting Friday night, I began the tedious process of breaking down more of Shawshank‘s Lego sets. First, two hours of taking apart the huge model of the Sydney Opera House. Last night, it was another hour, this time spent taking apart the R2-D2 model. Today, I spent two hours disassembling a Volkswagen Minibus, and two iconic city skylines. These are all going to one buyer, the same one who ended up buying a shitload of others when I put them up for sale last month. I swear, he’s getting a Christmas card when I get to Canada.
But wait, THERE’S MORE!
Bright and early this morning, I met up with someone who bought Shawshank‘s longboard. Later, a Wii game sold. Several eBay auctions sold this afternoon; it was smart to split the ponies into two lots, and the one I culled from the herd fetched a cool $91. I sold the InstantPot after dinner. Tomorrow, I’m supposed to meet someone else who wants me set of tiny Wolfgang Puck baking dishes.
At the end of the day, that’s around $500 I didn’t start the weekend with.
I told Shawshank what sold, while complaining about how the more I sell, the more cluttered the house seems to become. I really need a long stretch of time to haul everything out of the house for trash day. Before BossRPh leaves, I need to have her schedule some time off for me, something like a Thursday to Tuesday vacation. That would give me six whole days to dig as much stuff as possible out of the various areas of the house and then drag it all outside for trash pickup on Wednesday.
“Some day,” he told me, “you’re going to look around and wonder when it got so empty. Just wait.”
