Happy Friday, my friends. We’ve made it to the weekend once more.
Mom‘s insurance finally put through the referral to the pain management doctor. She had me come in with her. The office seemed really sketchy, and hit several of the checkboxes for a pill mill. However, the doctors she/we met were thorough. They made it very clear they don’t just throw drugs at your problem, and won’t even prescribe the pain med her regular doctor had written for her.
That’s ok, because she hates it and rarely takes it.
She left me alone for 10 minutes while she peed in a cup. I went outside, and she found me on the sidewalk, spinning poi.
I’ve spun a lot this week. I’ve mostly been drilling a move. I’m working on doing it consistently with the LED poi, plus integrating it with the other stuff I already have a solid grasp on.
The biggest problem I have is variation. I’ve only got my 4-5 set moves, and a couple of ways to string then together. Some moves fit together easier than others, of course. I don’t have a list of practice with stalls, which limits how I change direction and tempo. Stalls will probably be the next thing I work on.
I’m not sure what the big plans are for today. I’m pretty sure we’ll go out to buy groceries. Mom’s on the phone with Brian talking about the shopping list. I assume he asked about dinner tonight, because I just heard her say, “no, it’s Friday, we’re going out for Chinese”.
So there’s that, at least.
Yay Chinese food!!
