Shawshank pointed out over the weekend, “I don’t need to ask you which pharmacist you’re working with on Monday.” I don’t know who’s there today. It’s going to be a really tough day, regardless. NewTech wasn’t able to work. StressedRPh asked DayTech to cut her vacation short and come back to work a day early. To her credit, DayTech immediately replied and told her absolutely not.

Like the Monday after Thansgiving, the first Monday of a new year is a special kind of hell. Insurances change. Even if a patient keeps their same plan ID, it’s entirely possible for all the other things in their policy to change. Out of pocket costs reset, which is especially tough for the elderly. They were likely were in the coverage gap in December, and paying a lot more for their meds than normal.

And no one wants to take responsibility for the plan. The higher cost is obviously our doing. The couldn’t possibly have made a mistake when they chose their plan, or didn’t read everything.

But… I don’t need to deal with it this year.

Or next year.

Let’s just get through January, first.

There was a big jump in traffic to the house’s listing over the weekend. We’re still allowing people to view it until the sale is actually set in stone. I took a bit of time this morning to clear “the weekend” out of the kitchen, just in case something pops up.

The house inspection last week was everything I expected it to be. The peeling paint, some concrete work out front, plumbing issue, and a lack of handrail to the basement were all potential problems. Our agent is working with the buyer to get estimates for repairs in an effort to push things forward. I was warned there would be someone buy to look at the concrete issues; I assume that’s the step I fixed last fall. A plumber is coming by this morning.

Aside from the plumber, I don’t have any plans for the day. Shawshank‘s going into work to add some inventory to the system. I did a decent workout yesterday morning, and I don’t want to push my luck with something today. More than likely, I’ll put on some Netflix and snuggle the kitties.

Any suggestions on what to watch?
