I got to do a quick workout while he was at group, before getting ready to go food shopping. We were heading to the car when he told me, “I don’t know exactly how to get to Chapel View and I want to go to the Warhammer store.” Friday night, he said we’d go there in a couple of weeks, but changed his mind yesterday morning. He’s been watching The Painter’s Guild on Amazon for about three weeks now. I think he put it on for me, but he’s found it incredibly interesting and has been absorbing it like a frigging sponge.

Then, yesterday, he went into the shop and was so funny. I could tell he really wanted to do one of his own, and he’d said he wanted to buy a couple we could paint together. I’ve always been the artsy fartsy one in the family, so I’m willing to support him in any sort of artistic endeavour. We’re walking into the store and I’m mentally begging him not to make me talk to anyone, and 10 minutes later he’s excitedly building a space marine, which happened to be the featured figure in the last Painter’s Guild episode he’d watched on Saturday night.

We browsed strong the shop for a while. They have a couple of display cases of painted minis and sets. In the back, there’s a display case filled with things painted by locals.

“I want to be in the case,” he told me on the way home.

There was no stopping him once we got home. I felt bad, we left the Warhammer shop and still had to do the food shopping and I could tell he wanted was to get home and open the boxes.

This morning, I got this.

And, down the rabbit hole he goes.
