Hello, world. I woke up convinced it was probably Wednesday, maybe Friday. I poked around Bluesky a bit, and scrolled through some Reddit. Eventually, right around the time we were getting out of bed, I figured out what day it is.
Shawshank and I spent our day passing the Switch controller back and forth. Around lunchtime, he installed “Balatro“, and that was it. Neither of us knows exactly what we’re doing. We have the basic mechanics, but we’re firmly in the “numbers go brrrr” phase as opposed to synergy and strategy. I worked on my WordPress plugin while he played, and we’d swap after a couple of runs.
The plugin is going ok. I was having trouble with the data entry form. In its first incarnation, it would output the entire list of hashtags in a table with input fields for views and average watch time. While this was ok with 15-20 tags, there were too many hashtags by now. The list was giving me flashbacks to the inventory screens at the pharmacy- just endless tabbing through fields. After a lot of fucking around with the code, trying to figure out why tags weren’t being saved, it has a much simpler design, and it saves the hashtags. The next fix is trying to get edits to save properly.
Shawshank has the closing shift tonight. I’m thinking about doing smutty clown shit, and then playing “Belatro“.
