It’s wet.

Wednesday. We’re in the middle of a lull between thunderstorms right now, and the sun is peeking out here and there. I’ve been keeping my bedroom window open a little, and this morning’s storm was loud. The noise woke me up about an hour earlier than normal. Mal stayed in his safe place under my bed. Chaucer snuggled up with me.

I still haven’t had sweet potato fries. I miss my Friday night treat.

I’m not sure what the plan for today is. Although it’s not raining at the moment, the ground is too swampy to workout or spin. Plus, the local weather forecast says this is only a temporary break in the rain. I don’t want to drive anywhere, since there’s not a drop of gas anywhere in the area right now.

I’ve decided to start my prep for leaving sometime in June or July. I need to go through the paperwork in my hope chest to determine what, if anything, Shawshank might need to get to me. I’m hoping that by the time I’m ready to take off, I can get in on just my vaccine. The negative test requirement is going to be the sticky part of it all, forcing me to stay in one spot an extra day or two.

I would be so happy to be drinking a coffee with Shawshank in a month or so. Just saying.
