It’s baking day. I’ve got our recipes written out. Once I do the dishes, we’ll start, first some meringues, then a lemon pound cake with cream cheese icing and coconut. We have two varieties of chocolate chip cookies that will get baked after that. Both of our families have their own version of “minute cookies”, and we’ll make a batch of each. After dinner, we’ll set up a second batch of meringues – this time, another family recipe – which will go into the oven to “bake” overnight.
We’re keeping things fun for the rest of the day’s food. A couple of times a year, usually around holidays or days we’re already doing a lot of cooking, we like to do a dinner that’s just easy shit, like a bunch of appetizers. He’s got himself some chicken wings, and there’s a baked seafood sampler tray. I’m making some pizza-stuffed portobello mushrooms, and a batch each of general Tso’s and Korean BBQ cauliflower.
However, we can’t do any of that until I get off my ass and do some dishes. Have a good Sunday, everyone 🤗
