Gray, grey, whatever

Happy Friday, my friends. The coffee is brewed, the cats are lounging about in a post-kibble haze of gluttony. Our weather forecast is calling for scattered thunderstorms, and the rain has already started. It’s sprinkles for now. The low rumble of thunder I just heard promises more.

Since it’s looking gray, I don’t think there’s going to be much happening today. We might do laundry, but it really depends on if Mom wants to leave the house. She’s reached that age where she doesn’t like to go out in the rain.

And considering that the thunder is louder – and the skies darker – since I started writing, I don’t think laundry is happening.

It’s the weekend, and the rain is supposed to stick around for a few days. Tropical storm Ida is coming through the gulf, and we should see some heavy rains as we head into next week. I don’t think there’s any plans, really. All the Compound’s out of town guests have left, and I imagine Brian’s parents are completely beat from “entertaining”.

We’ll go food shopping, and I’ll grab stuff to make some ridiculously bad Mexican-in-name-only chicken. I’m trying to cook more often. I made shakshuka for dinner last night, adding some sausage to it because all meals need meat, at least in Brian’s head.

And here comes the rain.

Looks like we’ll be indoors all day.

Nothing wrong with that. I’ll play Assassin’s Creed 3. Maybe I’ll put something on Netflix, or just watch Antiques Roadshow.
