Clearing

Clearing

Good morning, world. It’s Tuesday. I went to bed with rain, and woke up to rain. For a brief moment, I saw a glimpse of blue sky. I hear the rain though. It’s not far off.

The last band of hurricane Ida are passing through the area this morning. The ground is saturated and spongy. The cesspool is filled with rainwater, and Mom is worried that doing much more than flushing will food the bathrooms. “No shower tonight or tomorrow morning”, she warned me last night. We just need a day or so without the deluge and we should be fine. It would be ridiculous to pay for someone come pump rainwater out. By the time anyone can get here to do it, the levels be down to normal anyway.

There’s nothing planned for today. I probably won’t do much poi. Since the ground is a swamp, I’d be forced to drill in the front yard or the driveway, and that’s a little awkward during daylight hours. I may go up to Walmart and buy a new charger for my phone, but that’s as exciting as it’ll be here. We’re having ribs for dinner, so um… yeah.

  1. Well, I really REALLY hope your ribs are better than the “bbq” ribs my mom made. I think it actually turned me off of ribs for a while.
