“Brief Tornadoes Possible” is a fun bit of weather

Bonjour, bitches. Wanna know what I’ve just added to the list of terrible ways to wake up? The smell of cat shit. It’s one of the rare, silent-but-deadly ways you could potentially wake up in this household. Judging entirely by the smell, you might think my cat survives on a diet consisting of nothing but curry and Sex Panther. Thankfully, aside from the smell, it was all contained inside the box.

While I was cleaning the truck earlier this week, I came to the realization our paperwork isn’t in the truck. I’ll have to go through the boxes I brought inside, as well as the hope chest. It’s not a difficult thing for me to order a copy of my marriage certificate again, but I was hoping to have some other documentation Shawshank and I had a life together.

DayTech isn’t having a good day either. A minivan-style school bus blew through a stop sign and hit her car. She’s waiting for a rental car to be dropped off so she can actually go to work today. Unfortunately, the fun doesn’t end there. StressedRPh is on vacation, so poor DayTech is working with Whatshisname, the worst pharmacist ever. NewTech consistently misses more shifts than she actually shows up for, and today’s no exception – she missed a flight yesterday and won’t be in today.

Mom and I went out for a little while yesterday. She goes through an insane amount of paperbacks, usually reading about five per week. I knew she had an absolute hoard of them in her spare bedroom. Thankfully, they were bagged up already.

We brought the bags over to the Confederate Compound and let Brian’s parents take some. They’re part of a small group that camps together, and a lot of the campgrounds they go to have small “libraries”. His mom happily took five of the ten bags. Most of the books were probably from her in the first place, but she’ll donate a few bags to the various campgrounds and divvy up stuff among their friends. The other half of the books were brought to the local library down the street. They have such a heavy influx of paperbacks being donated, they don’t even expect people to return them.

I don’t think we have any plans today. We might go out and pick up some dinner and Kleenex. Mom wanted to work on gardens stuff, but it’s been too damned hot in the sun to do it the last couple of days. Maybe today is the day.

I doubt it.
