blossoming

Hello, world. It’s another morning, but it’s sunny and warm enough to have at least one door open for the cats right now. Podrick was good enough to let Shawshank sleep until 8am. On the other hand, I, being the cat-momma, was the recipient of several snuggle attacks overnight. The headbutts have been very aggressive lately.
My bird seed sunflowers spent the last couple of days growing like mad. One of them has had a visible “head” for a week now. The second one’s head popped out yesterday. They’re both taking their sweet time blooming.
I had one of those shifts yesterday. It was ridiculously slow all afternoon. The big tipper was back, but he was broke1 and just took advantage of the free banter. The annoying squealing noise was back, the one I thought was a truck. It turned out to be my aurora light. The mechanism that makes the light shimmer already emits a grinding noise all the time, however, the screech is new. I took a second break, and considered logging off because of the noise and how quiet my traffic was. Unlike a work truck, though, I actually have some control over the situation. I took a break, smoking enough to put me in a very personable mood, slapped the light around until it stopped screaming, then got back on the bean. The next hour netted me about $44. I logged out and made the unsexiest of dinners: a liverwurst sandwich.
We have the next two days off. I want to go up to the secondhand shop and look for treasures and junk.
- I sort my viewer list by how many tokens they have in their wallets, so I get a rough idea of whether the people marked as big spenders are in a position to spend big. ↩︎
