better bundle up my lady biscuit

Good morning, my internet pals. Today is Thursday. My half-pot of coffee is gurgling, and the sun is shining. The temperature is still quite negative, so I’ll probably be staying inside all day. I’ll be ok. We recently discovered whatever Shawshank has streaming from his phone to the TV continues uninterrupted when he leaves for work. I’ve got 14.5 seasons of ER to stream on Prime.

Yesterday was another artsy-fartsy day in the Flat. I spent all afternoon working on Shawshank‘s miniatures, specifically a single large, marble base. He thinks it looks awesome. I think it looks ok. We’re always our worst critics.

I was so gung-ho on finishing the Triumph’s base that I did nothing at all with the bases I sculpted on Tuesday. Since this large base is finished, I can focus on all the small ones. I have about 20 or so to prime and start marbling, and another dozen that I did earlier this week to touch up. At the top of this weekend’s shopping list is some good glue. We have some glue, but it’s not the greatest. I don’t trust it to hold the Sisters. At the same time, I don’t trust myself to drill and peg (most of) their tiny feet. I need a better glue, or definitely faster setting.

However, in spite of all the mini painting I did, I also managed to work on the outline for the Shawshank‘s painting of the shop. He actually reminded me about working on it after dinner, and got to see how the house portraits start from the very beginning. Since most of the initial outline is finished, I can put it onto the paper tonight. As long as I can get some paints, brushes, and a frame this weekend, I’ll have a couple of days to bang out the painting of the shop.

The light in the living room is great. I can sit on the floor and paint all day for a couple of days, and be done in a day or two, regardless of weather.
