Backyard Underpants Dance

Yesterday was another steady day at work. By the end of my shift, things were better. My earlier start time helped, I’m sure. Our phones worked the entire day, which is pretty impressive. Unfortunately, the phones up front were a bit unreliable for a time.

StressedRPh had to call one of our regulars. The regular had sent her home health aid in on Saturday to pick up her diabetes meds, including her insulin. Due to NewTech‘s complete inability to do her job properly, the aid was sent home empty-handed. The patient came in later and absolutely laid into Capt. Useless. From what I’ve heard from the supervisor who was there, this patient spent 45 minutes calling Capt. Useless every insult and obscenity should could come up with.

Her insulin had no refills. Rather than try and work out a solution so this woman could STAY ALIVE, Capt. Useless was, well, useless. He said she didn’t call in to request refills. He implied it was her own fault she’d run out. The supervisor up front knows we can usually supply patients with a couple of days’ worth of medication in situations like this. When she suggested it to Capt. Useless, he told her it was against company policy and she’d be responsible for covering the cost of it.

So the patient went home without anything. She ended up messing with her insulin regimen because prefers to remain in the realm of the living.

StressedRPh’s next task is talking with our DM and getting her to deal with Capt. Useless. We can complain as much as we want about how he sucks as a worker, but it typically falls on deaf ears. However, in this case, the patient transferred all of her meds to a competitor, which hurts the company’s bottom line. And that will definitely care about.

I made a fabulous chicken wrap dinner last night. After dinner, since it was still nice out, I went outside to spin for a little while. I wanted to practice some tosses before it was too dark to see. Then, once the sun set completely, I played around with just some spins for a little while.

Gotta take advantage of these nice nights before the weather changes, right?

Today’s Thursday, which is a later shift and I’ll head upstairs for a workout. I have to ship a case of DVDs out, which is one less thing to take up space in the living room. Then, I’ll work my closing shift, hope it runs smoothly, and finally come home to a dinner of meatballs.

Enjoy your day, my friends. ☕
