As expected, I’m still here.

As expected, I’m still here.

Good morning, my friends. Today is Wednesday. This means nothing to me, as I don’t have any plans to leave the house until tomorrow. Time is meaningless to me. I spend an hour or three every other day cleaning stuff, but there’s not much happening at this point. I do some chores, or a workout, and I smoke a bowl or two, and I sit around. I’m in all of my full Hermit Girl glory right now.

I cleaned for most of yesterday afternoon. Before I had finished, I had taken out another four giant trash bags, and several boxes of assorted stuff. I opted to keep the microwave until the last minute for easy cooking. However, I did toss out the toaster. One of the things outside this week was the box our TV came in. I had used it to sort of corral a lot of random shit. It was filled with things like canvas boards we used to paint the Warhammer minis, cardboard, a mop, etc.

This morning, the recycling truck pulled up, as usual. In addition to the regular bin of cans, the guy emptied half the contents of TV box onto the bags of regular trash and then tossed the box into the truck.* I can’t wait until the regular trash truck pulls up and I can peek through the curtains and feel violated all over again as I watch them open everything.

But…

That was pretty much the last of everything that I needed to put out. At this point, everything still left in the house is the stuff I’ll take with me, or things I’ll leave on the curb the day I take off. Last summer, after crying about how I felt like I wasn’t making any progress, Shawshank told me that one day, I would wake up and look around an empty house.

Today is almost that day.

Shawshank received another form to sign from the lawyer. Thankfully, it didn’t need to be notarized, and he’ll just add it to the envelope full of papers from the consulate before it goes to FedEx. We don’t know the status of the paperwork that the consulate has. I figure Tuesday at the earliest for closing, but who knows.

Today’s an even-numbered day, so I’m sure I can expect a phone call from my mother at some point. I’ll have some “me”-time this morning and do a good workout before then. I’ll text my sister in the afternoon and remind her about visiting tomorrow. I won’t start any projects, unless that project is binging half a season of a TV series in one sitting.

* He took out several of the canvasses, but didn’t see the mop.
