It’s morning, supposedly. That’s what the clock tells me. I woke up two hours earlier than usual, and it’s still black outside. Sometimes I can go back to sleep, or at least lay there in bed and lightly doze. Unfortunately, this morning was not one of those times. Judging by Chaucer‘s plaintive meows, he’s starving. However, that’s something that happens any time of day. He’s always starving.
I managed to go outside and spin for a little while yesterday. Between the neighbor chatting with me on her way out and Backdoor Cat rolling on the concrete, I didn’t accomplish too much. I also took a ball to the face. Slightly more than a graze this time, I knocked my sunglasses off and smacked a piercing hard enough to make me go inside and check for damage.
Chaucer has moved into the bedroom. He’s screaming at Shawshank‘s sleeping form.
Shawshank had a rough week. On one hand, his boss is great to work for. On the other hand, she’s a terrible manager. She has lousy time management, and has times when she forgets that not everything revolves around her and her business. At the moment, she’s stressing about some after-hours nights she hosts at the shop. Most of the stress is her own doing – she leaves everything until the very last moment, and expects everyone to be able to drop everything and help fix things.
This week has been very “bleh” for me, as well. It’s been a struggle to remember what day it is. My mood’s been all sorts of everywhere, but mostly low. I’ve been bouncing between happily accepting snuggles from Backdoor Cat (aka “Zeppelin”) and then staring at my phone wondering wtf is even up with my life.
We went out for dinner to celebrate the end of the work week. He gave the restaurant’s night waitress/cook the painting and she’s going to pass it on to the owner. We didn’t drive right home when we left the diner. Instead, we drove past the apartment, out of town, and into the fields. He pulled over, and I was allowed to enjoy some spin time in The Void.
I didn’t even deal with taking pictures; I let Shawshank use his superior camera this time around.
It’s actually unnerving. And it wasn’t even full dark.
Today, we’re shopping.
Those pics are so ethereal and wonderous
It’s unbelievable 🥰
