Good morning, my lovelies. Welcome to another morning. The sun isn’t over the horizon yet, but I’m sure it’s cold outside. I’m awake, just as I’ve been off and on since 4:20am.

Yesterday was long. We left the house early, and immediately had some Hot Mess bullshit. Shawshank came back in from starting it up and announced, “Well, the TPMS light finally shut off1, but the low pressure light replaced it, so we’ll stop at the co-op and top them up.” I spent the first half of the ride a little anxious because the low pressure warning light doesn’t go out immediately, and then the TPMS light went back on again. Eventually, I forgot about the lights, probably when I was watching the sun coming up over the prairie.

I live in a fucking Bob Ross painting. We’d had some hoarfrost overnight, and all the trees looked like they were coated in cotton. Hoarfrost isn’t really a thing in Rhode Island. If conditions were right, we might have a storm that coats the branches and drags them down. Up here, stuff like hoarfrost and ice fog fascinate me. The morning was pretty overcast when we left the Flat, but the clouds broke up somewhat as we drove. For a few minutes, the sun was at just the right angle to light everything up with what looked like a coat of glitter. Alas, the glitter doesn’t show up on camera. It’s like the Earth telling you a secret you can’t share.

Eventually, we made it into the city. Our first stop was the dirt mall and thrift store. I bought Mom some stuff for Christmas in the dirt mall. I bought myself a lot of sweaters and leggings. Like, a metric shitload of sweaters. From the thrift store, we headed out to a vape shop. We were looking for a replacement for the vape I destroyed during the haunted house gig. They didn’t have any of what we wanted. Our next stop was the dispo. I bought us a lot of weed. Like, a metric shitload2 of weed. Then, Shawshank took me out to lunch, and I had a fabulous chicken sandwich with some sweet potato fries.

Our final stop was to Walmart. We had a list of stuff we wanted to buy. Some of it was household things found cheaper in the city than in Slightly BiggerTown. The rest of it was stuff we can’t find around here. We grabbed what we needed for the week’s groceries while we were there, packed the truck, and headed back towards TinyTown. I put my spin time playlist on, and we sang along to all sorts of stuff. Around halfway home, the TPMS warning light finally turned off, and all was well.

We didn’t expect it to be an all-day affair, and were home a couple of hours later than we’d anticipated. Shawshank unlocked the door and Chaucer immediately announced his displeasure about the 90 minute delay of dinner. We didn’t cook anything for ourselves; our lunch was pretty big and a little later than normal. Plus, the day had been so long we didn’t give a shit at that point. I ate a Poptart and a bowl of cereal.

I crashed hard last night. We ended up cutting short the episode of Letterkenny we were watching with only 7 minutes left. I knew I wasn’t going to make it. I put my new pillow into a pillowcase, crawled into bed with my new vape and new Squishmallow axolotl, and said something in gibberish to Shawshank before passing out. I was awake a little early, but the new pillow things made it so I was at least comfortable while I was awake.

As usual, Sunday is chore day in the Flat. Shawshank has a system, and I let him do his thing. I’ll finish my post, figure out which of my 37 sweaters I want to wear today. Later today, we’ll go to Shady Acres for dinner. Aside from that jaunt out, we’re keeping things pretty low key here, watching Nerd StuffTM on TV.

1 One of the lovely little glitches of the CRV is an issue with the tire pressure monitoring system, which doesn’t play nice with our phones’ GPS. The system failure light is on about half the time. I used to carry a tire pressure gauge in the truck but it was lost somewhere.
2 according to current conversion rates, 1 metric shitload = ~28gr of the jazz cabbage
