Good morning, it’s Monday. The morning is warm already, and the weather is uncertain. Currently, it’s sunny with clouds. The weatherpeople are calling for thunderstorms. I’m really hoping the storms settle down a bit; I’m running out of underwear and beater shirts.
Yesterday was another lazy one. The rain started when I was putting on makeup. Brian’s mother will always call on Sunday mornings to invite us over for dinner, but didn’t. She had a rough night/morning, having to go to their friend’s house in the wee hours for a medical emergency. When she called Brian in the afternoon, she said “you can come over, if you want…” in that tone that said she really didn’t need us to come over.
We stayed home.
Instead, I arted for a lot of the day. I inked two versions of the Providence skyline based on a photo I took when I was up north recently. Out of boredom, I masked the buildings as well. I have an idea of what I want to do with the two of them. Just after I disconnected from our videochat last night, I told Shawshank I had an idea for one of them and scrambled to find something to write on. I improvised a post-it note out of some of my painter’s tape.
I worked on the watercolor print shop for a little while in the afternoon. Last week, I figured out how to link products to external shops, as well as shelled out the $30 for a pro account on the site that handles the printing. I’m no longer limited to selling only my (probably underpriced) originals. Depending on today’s plans, I might add and change some things about it.
Eventually, the thunder stopped and it cleared up enough for the neighborhood to start setting shit on fire. I went outside to spin poi under the fireworks. Mom came out shortly after, and most of the spinning stopped at that point.
Today is Brian’s last day off. We’re going to the Compound today, I just don’t know when. Brian has been hounding my mother to go out and buy boots, but I don’t think he’s happy with the boot budget and we haven’t been shopping. I’m about ready to get off my ass and go back to my room (to sit on my ass).
I can’t wait to see what your watercolour plans turn out like!
