Happy weekend, my lovelies. We’ve made it. Huzzah. Today is sunny, and the temperatures are supposed to be hot and humid and miserable. Brian is outside mowing the backyard before the sun gets too high. Good luck with that, my dude. According to the weather people, it already feels like a balmy 87° outside and that shit is only going to heat up.
I’m becoming a vampire. I don’t go outside until sundown.
That’s a lie, actually. I take Chaucer outside for a couple of minutes a day. He enjoys rolling on the hot patio and chasing lizards. So far, he has yet to successfully catch one.
While Chaucer seeks, I sit under the umbrella. Sometimes I bring out the earbuds. Most of the time, however, I just sit.
The Great Snail War Rages On
- 54 snails removed
- 4 AWOL in the bedroom
I’m still finding snails in the Apothecarium. They’re much bigger now, and easier to spot. Unfortunately, I’m battling centipedes in that jar as well. I’ve spotted and squished two small ones so far, but I know there’s at least one more – a large one – hiding in there. They’ve decimated the springtail population in that ecosystem.
I spent a lot of time yesterday afternoon on the bathroom floor, working on lines for paintings. I have a lot of sketches for buildings that need to be inked. I want to find some other subjects to practice.
We’ll see. The weekend just started. It’s not like I have anything planned, aside from grocery shopping and recording dumbass Tiktoks.
