Good morning, world. It’s Saturday, but my brain’s mental calendar is completely screwed up this morning. I’m not sure if it’s the lack of Mom in the house or the fact that Brian was out of work in relatively early in the afternoon. Regardless, for whatever reason, my head can not fathom Saturday. I’m not even mistaking it for any other day, it’s just not Saturday.

I slept decently last night. I also managed to put the laptop away before falling asleep this time around. No one was sick overnight, which certainly helps with my sleeping habits.

I finished the two paintings I was working on this week. I’m pretty pleased with how they’ve turned out. Not that it matters if I find something to fix – once they’re off the board and signed, that’s it. There’s no changing things. I put both paintings back in the storage pad. I’ll send Shawshank‘s up to him before the trip. This one… I have no idea.

This is the first time I’ve had a painting take long enough to have an entire progress gallery on it. I’ve always liked having collections of my art – my great-grandmother said to keep everything, no matter how I felt about it, just to show how I’d improved. Drilling down another step, a mini gallery of progress on individual paintings can show how things change along the way.

Normally, today would be the day we’d go food shopping. Without Mom, we’re like a ship without a captain. I don’t know what we’re doing or eating tonight. Brian is going to his parents’ house to clean out the pool and get their mail. I’ll probably take out some chicken to defrost and make us fajitas for dinner.

Oh well. Time to slam back what remains of the coffee and get dressed. Have a good weekend, my friends.
