Sunshine and Thursday and whatever

Mal just merped and ran into the bedroom for his morning poo, so I guess the morning can start. Hello, world. Have you pooped yet?

We went out for a Chinese buffet lunch yesterday, with Brian’s mom and another friend. It was everything you could ever imagine. I had the opportunity to hear the homemade catheter story again. It was actually the extended release version of the story, which included a description of the improvised commode made from a milk crate and a bucket. #blessed🙏

But, aside from that discussion, it wasn’t a bad day. I even played outside for a while.

Timeline

I’m planning to sit down today, probably while Mom is at a doctor’s appointment, and make my list of things that need to be handled. My uncle, also planning a long-distance move, suggested I skip getting any of the extra car bullshit and simply upgrade my AAA plan. The cats need shots and a checkup. I have to go through the boxes that are in my room and in the truck. A lot of the stuff in there could be condensed into half that number of boxes.

That’s a whole other thing. How much do I bring? How much do I toss out? I never considered that The Great Sort could be a multi-stage process. However, it makes sense. When I first started all of this, we assumed Shawshank would still be living with his parents and we’d have someplace of our own to fill in the future. Things changed over the last year, but I never adjusted my plans.

Shawshank‘s been in The Flat since March, and the majority of the living necessities have been taken care of at this point. I don’t need to haul up duplicates of cast iron pans, or more dishes. So far, I have two boxes packed up with things to send over after I’ve crossed: my great-grandmother’s paintings and the special Christmas ornaments.

Time to get scared all over again.
