I don’t think I could describe last night’s sleep as anything more than “adequate”. I’d been in bed for maybe 20 minutes when I heard Mal eating some sort of crinkly plastic. I chased him around the house for two minutes before it was clear he’d swallowed it. I’m sure he’ll give it back to me later this afternoon. On a positive note, his disturbance gave me a chance to actually post what I had been writing last night. I had started it while I was chatting with Shawshank and forgot about it.
In addition to Mal’s most recent attempt to create an expensive vet bill, I was up before sunrise again. The wind was loud and woke me up. From my quick look out the window, it looks like I’m missing a box of miscellaneous Christmas ornaments. I can’t tell if someone took it, or it’s jammed under the truck, or if it’s made its way down to the playground at the end of the street. Fortunately, I was able to go back to a light sleep. The wind is still pretty crazy out there, but should let up a little bit later in the day.
I put more things into the truck yesterday. I’ll definitely need to do some shuffling around of things before I can leave. I had anticipated driving with my small hope chest in the foot well area of the front passenger seat, but it won’t fit. That sucks, because it would have been a fantastic base for Admiral Stumpy von Wonder Chicken and his Chicken Chariot.
That’s ok. The chest can swap places with some of the stuff in the back, just not until the wind dies down a bit. I’m not opening my front door in this shit.
