I GOT PAID!
That’s pretty much the last work-related worry I had. All that’s left now is to wait for my W2 to show up.
Our agent called to check in yesterday. It’s just shitty news all around. First, she’s come up positive, so she’s in quarantine until Sunday, at least. She feels terrible about how drawn out things have become.
More annoying, however, the lender won’t let the buyer waive the FHA requirements until the front step is fixed properly. Everyone involved thinks this is complete and utter bullshit. We had about 6-8″ of snow in my neighborhood on Sunday. They’re forecasting the possibility of another 1-3″ today. We could have more at the end of this week, and there’s a chance for more early next week. There’s no they’ll fix way this street-level step any time within the next two weeks.
Bullshit, I say.
For what it’s worth, I’m going to the lawyer’s office today to sign my end of the paperwork. Part of me is a little ok with the delay. I won’t need to go nuts for the rest of this week, trying to have the house ready. I’ll be here this weekend, so I can see my sister (and other family that gives a shit) at least one more time before I take off. DayTech and BossRPh want to go out for my birthday.
But I’m also pretty happy that I’ll have my part done. I clean, and when I’m done, that’s it. I’m done. That’s it, I can leave. I planned to have the junk people in again this week, but put that off until I know for certain when I’m actually leaving. The way I see it, delaying allows me to have EVERYTHING that needs to go on the junktruck done in one trip.
The law office isn’t too far from the pharmacy, so I’m bringing the box of vintage furs to DayTech. She has an 8-year old with all the sass and drama of Blanche from The Golden Girls, and I think she’d enjoy them. If she doesn’t, DayTech’s equally sassy younger brother will love them. The rest of the afternoon will have me hauling bags of trash outside for tomorrow’s trash pickup, the possibly a bit of gaming, and making some progress on the wreath I’m working on right now.
Time to start getting ready for the day. It’s a human day, which means actual clean clothing.
